This exceptional fabric is naturally hand-dyed with Onion peel on organic Eri silk yarns, offering a unique blend of heavyweight resilience and lightweight comfort. With its silk-like elegance and cotton-like texture, this Eri silk fabric stands apart in both feel and style. Historically cherished as a vital element of Assamese bridal trousseaus, Eri silk is not only a symbol of heritage but also a treasured heirloom, passed down through generations.

Dye Used: Onion skins, a byproduct of agriculture, have been utilized for thousands of years as a natural dye source. Rich in colorants, these skins can be easily extracted to produce dyes that are both environmentally friendly and sustainable. The dyeing process using dry onion skins is not only cost-effective but also minimizes environmental impact. Depending on the type of onion and its growing conditions, the dyes can range from a range of colors from yellow to orange with yellow skins, to green and brown with red skins, offering a diverse palette for natural textile materials.
